Floorball - What is floorball?
The inventors of floorball aimed to create a game that was at least as enjoyable, but much cleaner, for those who don't like the aggressiveness of hockey, and could be played in a gym. Floorball is native to Scandinavian countries such as Sweden.
Floorball tournaments
The name floorball has been used since the International Floorball Federation (IFF) was founded in 1986.
The first European Floorball Championships for men were held in Finland in 1994 and for women in Switzerland in 1995. The first World Floorball Championships for men were held in Sweden in 1996 and for women in Finland in 1997.
